How Newham will
benefit
The 2012 Olympic Games and
Paralympic Games will provide an incredible spectacle and shine a
world-wide spotlight on Newham for the period of the
Games.
Making sure that the facilities and parklands support
the events is of great importance. However, the greater benefit for
Newham comes from how you, the community, will use the facilities
after the Games. This is often called the legacy of the
Games.
The venues have been designed over the last two years and will be
built between 2008 and 2011. They will stage the Games in 2012, and
then be ready for your use from 2013.
The focus is now on how the facilities are converted, how they are
managed and programmed to maximise the benefits to you. For
example, we are working to ensure that the Olympic Park is
accessible to everyone and exciting! Look out for opportunities to
get involved with its
development!
