Inspiring People
Rewards - who deserves your nomination?
As we approach the London 2012
Olympic and Paralympic Games, Newham Council is working hard to
ensure that residents can be part of these fantastic events and
will benefit from their legacy.
The closing date for nominations has now passed. Successful
applicants who have been entered into the draw will be
notified.
As part of our 2012 activity we have bought tickets to some of the
most sought-after events. We want to reward residents who have gone
the extra mile to make a difference in their community, or excel at
something they do.
What we are looking for
We would like you to nominate someone who you think deserves a pair
of tickets to the Games.
We are looking for people who are an inspiration to others or whose
talents and goodwill may have gone unrecognised. Nominations are
now open and entries are welcome until 23 April 2012.
Each month a panel will meet to decide that month's winner from the
list of nominations received. All winners will be eligible to
receive a Games ticket and will be notified that their name has
been placed in a draw. Their achievements will also be celebrated
in a future issue of the Newham Mag.
Next year all our Inspiring People will be invited to a special
event where the Games tickets will be awarded. We've secured
tickets for the opening or closing ceremonies as well as the finals
for the athletics, basketball, cycling, fencing, boxing, judo,
taekwondo and weightlifting.
