Why is the council spending money on Games tickets when it is making cuts?
The tickets have been bought using funds generated by property let by Newham Council to LOCOG during the Games, so funds will not come from resident's Council Tax.

Will councillors be allocated Games tickets?
No, councillors will not be given these tickets.

Can council staff be nominated for Games tickets?
No, council staff are not eligible to win tickets.

What is the process for selecting the winners?
A panel will meet every month from now until April 2012 and select a winner from the nominations received.

How will winners be notified?
All winners will be notified after the selection panel has met each month. The winners name will appear on the Newham website and in the Newham Mag.

What tickets do Inspiring People Reward winners get?
The tickets are for the high demand Games events, including the opening and closing ceremonies, athletics final (including men's 100m), diving, cycling, boxing and fencing finals.

Can winners choose which Games event they attend?
No, the tickets will be randomly selected and awarded at a special event before the Games begin in July 2012.

Are these the only Olympic Games tickets available now?
These tickets are for the high demand events which have now sold out.

Newham Council have secured priority tickets for test events that residents can purchase 48 hours before general release. We'll also have a selection of free test event tickets to give-away to residents.

LOCOG is expected to release further tickets for sale closer to the 2012 Games.
