London Borough of Newham is supporting talented people to achieve their goals by the time of the 2012 Games.

The Academy aims to provide the young people of Newham the opportunities to find their true potential through their chosen sport, regardless of background or disability. We are delivering on the promise to create a world-class sporting nation.

Since the launch in 2006, we have worked with clubs, coaches and partners to support young people maximises their potential. We have committed to supporting our young athletes through to 2012 with financial, coaching and motivational support.

A lot has change since 2006, with the commitment to sporting excellent from clubs, Universities and colleges growing. The council is now seeking a partner to take on the delivery of the outcomes set out by the Newham Sports Academy (NSA). A process is being run to find such a partner over the coming 3 months.

How you can get involved


As we get closer to 2012, the NSA is focussing on it's members who have the best chance of qualifying for the Games.

However, we are still looking for young people, over 17 who have the potential to switch from their sport to athletics. NSA coaches will be at some of Newham's large events throughout the year.
