In tough times, making ends meet
can be hard enough without having to worry about paying bills like
Council Tax. But failure to pay on time could lead to additional
costs.
Last year, Newham Council issued 85,000 reminders to
residents who missed a Council Tax payment. Ignoring a reminder
notice could result in a demand to pay the annual balance in full.
Usually it is spread over ten months.
This year up to two reminders will be issued. After this, missed
payments will result in the whole amount becoming payable straight
away.
The easiest way to pay your
Council
Tax is by Direct Debit You will be able to choose from five
payment dates. All payments will be taken automatically which means
you won't have to remember to pay each month and run the risk of
forgetting to do so on time.
