Financial support to enable
physically disabled young people studying in UK colleges or
universities to make the most of further/higher education or
training.
The grants are used to supply resources for instance Human
Support such as note-takers and sign language interpreters;
computer equipment; adapted or additional accommodation; travel
costs; mobility equipment; other costs which relate solely to
disability Grants range from £250 to £2,000 per year and are for a
period of one or two years.
Students of all nationalities may apply for support, but the
study course must be provided by a UK college or university.
Candidates will have a physical disability and be at least 17 and,
preferably, under 25 years of age at the beginning of the period of
education (or training) in respect of which funding is being
sought.
The awards are usually made in July (deadline for applications is
31 May each year) and September (deadline 31 August), in
preparation for the new academic year. You will be advised in
writing as soon as a decision has been made about your
application.
