help get the party started!
2012 is set to be an amazing and
special time in Newham's history. Would you like to be part of the
celebrations?
The Mayor and Newham Council are organising an exciting programme
of events for the whole community this year and we want you to help
us show the rest of the world that our borough is the place to
party!
Join the celebrations by either being part of one of our events or
organising your own.
We know that an event is the perfect way to bring the whole
community together, so if we like your idea, we could support you
with funding through our Inspiring People Grant. Applicants can
apply for two Inspiring People Grants during 2012. The grants are
for £250 (but can be up to £500 in exceptional circumstances)
You can organise any type of celebration anywhere in the borough.
Here are some ideas to get you started:
- street party
- dance performance
- drama performance
- musical performance
- sports day
- community fete or fun day
- talent show
- comedy show
- art exhibition
- cultural festival
- art and crafts fair
- photography display
- gardening event
- world record attempt!
No event is too small. We will help you by providing support and
advice on the following:

Your event idea
The easiest way to tell us about your proposed event is by
completing our
online form. Alternatively you can also download and fill in a
Word document (Word doc.) and send this to us.

*The Inspiring People grant is likely to be £250 if approved.
However in exceptional circumstances event organisers could receive
up to £500. Grants will be paid through an approved not-for-profit
organisation and will be subject to terms and conditions.
