The Library and Local Service Centre @ The Gate is a multi-purpose, state of the art community facility where local people can access a range of library and council services. From borrowing books to free internet access to housing and council enquiries all needs can be met at The Gate.

Activities at the Library @ The Gate:

  • Teen Xtra Evenings - Every Thursday 6-8pm. Free activities at the Library @ The Gate.
  • Adult Reading Group - First Tuesday of the month 6.30-7.30pm. Explore the pleasure of reading in a friendly environment.
  • Writers Group - Last Tuesday of the month 5.45 to 7.45pm
  • ICT Surgeries - Every Thursday, 10am to 12 noon. Book an appointment and come have your computer-related doubts resolved!
  • Storytelling - Every Friday 11am to 12 noon. Open to children under 5 with their parents/carers.
  • Homework Club - Tuesdays during school term 4pm to 6pm for seven to 14 year olds.
  • Film night: 'love the film, read the book' - first Thursday and third Tuesday of every month from 6pm to 8pm see screenings of great adaptations. To get a ticket, simply rent a book from the library. Entrance is dependent upon the film certificate.
