Stratford Library is the borough's flagship purpose built library providing access to a world of books, information resources and communication technology.

There is something for everyone whether you want books for children, graphic novels or old favourites such as crime fiction, biographies and romance.

Activities at Stratford Library

  • Reading for Pleasure and Writing for Fun - two free ten week courses led by professional tutors
  • Homework Club - Mondays during school term and half term from 4pm to 6pm for seven to 14 year olds. Bring your homework along for support and advice
  • Adult Reading Group - Second Monday of the month 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Explore the pleasure of reading in a friendly environment
  • Storytelling - Every Tuesday 11am to 12 noon and every Friday 11am to 12 noon. Open to children under 5 with their parents/carers.
  • Do It Online - Every Wednesday 2-4pm. Free basic computer sessions for all people over 18. Advance booking required at a library and a valid library card required before you start the course.
  • Chess Club - Every Thursday 5.30-7.30pm. Learn to play chess for free. All levels of ability welcome. No bookings necessary.
