break

The club was established 60 years ago, in 1948. Canning Town soon become a reputable football club in the East end of London gaining a reputation for good football and a thriving social scene.

In six decades of amateur football, Town have competed in many league and cup competitions providing organised football for many hundreds of residents from the London borough of Newham and beyond. Today, Town have four adult male teams competing on Saturdays and a veteran's team on Sundays. Our first team compete at step seven in the national league system, which provides a high standard of football. Our other teams compete at varying standards, so there are opportunities for players of all abilities.

Canning Town are a forward thinking football club; we harbour ambitions to play the highest standard of football possible. We employ an equal opportunities policy to ensure that gaining membership to our club is fair for all. We also have aspirations to integrate our club into the surrounding communities, so that we can provide opportunities to those interested in playing for a well organised football club. The main thing that keeps the club together is their spirit which shows in the way they approach the game, the way they play the game and their responses after the game. This great overall team spirit is one which you won't find too often in many other clubs. We respect everyone, and every player plays with his heart.

Canning Town are a well run and organized club which boast four competitive teams in well established leagues. In addition to this, they have a Vet's team which play as often as they can find opposing teams to play against. With this taken into consideration, it is no wonder they now boast a large and healthy squad. Our current home grounds are, 1st Team - McMillan stadium, 2nd Team - West Ham community pitch, 3rd & 4th Teams - Lyle Park. We play in two leagues the prestigious Essex Olympian and the Romford and district league.

Our matches are played across the whole of Essex county and London wide in cup competitions. We are a very responsible club that has developed an excellent reputation over the last 59 years and during this time we have been entirely self-financing.
