Olympiad
The Ideas Olympiad is a free
series of events, brought to you by the London Borough of Newham,
which will bring high profile and interesting speakers to the
borough from 28 May - 27 June, to talk to residents about their
ideas and vision.
This year our speakers will include:

Gill Fielding - self-made millionaire from West Ham
Lord Gulam Noon - business tycoon and Chancellor of the University
of East London
Find out how these successful business people made their first
millions.
Gill Fielding
Gill Fielding is a self-made
millionaire with a no-nonsense, positive approach to finance and a
personal mission to educate the nation in managing and improving
their own financial position. She is best known for her appearance
on Channel 4's The Secret Millionaire when she gave away nearly
£250,000 to good causes.
Gill co-founded and owns
www.fieldingfinancialfamily.com
which she set up in order to help anyone achieve what she describes
as 'Financial Freedom.' She has also written and presented a DVD
entitled "Riches", where she shares her Seven Secrets of Wealth
which aims to help people transform their lives.
The Lord Noon of St John's Wood Kt, MBE
Lord Noon is a renowned British based businessman and entrepreneur
who has founded and operated a number of major food product
companies. He is non-executive Chairman of Noon Products Ltd which
he founded in 1987 and is now part of Kerry Foods Ltd. He is also
founder (1971), Chairman and Managing Director of Bombay Halwa Ltd
(Royal Sweets) which remains at the heart of his business as a
leading manufacturer of Indian sweets and snacks.
He was elected President of the London Chamber of Commerce and
Industry in 2002. After receiving an MBE in the Queen's Honours
List in 1996 and a knighthood by the Queen in her Jubilee year in
2002, he then went on to be awarded Peerage to the House of Lords
in 2011. His main political interests are in the areas of
immigration, prevention of extremism and education.
Lord Noon is currently the Chancellor for the University of East
London.

Art Theft and the Case of the Two Stolen Turners

Sandy Nairne - Director of the National Portrait Gallery, London
(previously Director of Programmes at Tate).
In 1994 two important Turner paintings (then valued £24million)
were stolen from a German public gallery while on loan from the
Tate Collection in London. Sandy Nairne (then Director of
Programmes at the Tate) became centrally involved in the pursuit of
the pictures, and the negotiation for their return.
Sandy Nairne will be signing copies of his book 'Art Theft: And the
Case of the Stolen Turners'.

A conversation with David Gold, co-chairman of West Ham United
Football Club
