What we do
All parents and carers are
troubled from time to time about their children and need someone to
turn to.
Parents and carers are can often be at a loss to know
whether the difficulties are a normal part of growing up or whether
they are something for which help should be sought.
Sometimes parents talk about their worries with teachers, social
workers and family doctors. These professional may be concerned
about children and young people when problems persist or are
particularly severe.
Examples could be when a child is often distressed or seem's unable
to play normally and happily. It is situations like these when we
may be asked to become involved. We are asked to see children and
families when problems are not fully understood, when nothing seems
to be working or when the child or young person has been severely
affects by events like accidents, illness, injury, bereavement,
physical problems or some other pressures.
