Intermediate
Rent
Rent a new or refurbished home at
a rate lower than the open market price, but higher than for social
rented accommodation.
The scheme is also known as sub market rent
or discounted market rent. You are likely to pay
around 70 per cent of the local market rent for the type of
property you live in. The accommodation is provided by a registered
affordable housing provider.
What type of homes can I get?
Most are new
properties. But sometimes older properties are bought and
refurbished by housing associations. You may also get a property
that has previously been let on this scheme.
Am I eligible?
This scheme has traditionally been for key workers. But help can
now be provided for other groups who do not qualify for social rent
homes and who cannot afford to buy a home of their own
outright.
How do I apply?
