Living with friends or family

break

If you currently live with friends or family and you want to find another place to live you can speak to one of our customer service advisors at any of the Local Service Centres.

Home ownership schemes

Help is available for those who want to buy their own home, but cannot afford to buy outright on the market.

I want to apply for a council or housing association property

Finding a place to live can be a very stressful experience and not knowing what your options are can add to this. Although we are committed to helping applicants find safe and secure accommodation that is suited to their situation, there is a shortage of properties in Newham and a huge demand.

Private rented accommodation

Renting from private landlords and hostels are the only options available to the majority of single people and childless couples. If you are working and earning a reasonable wage, you may decide to buy in the long term, but most people have to rent privately at least for a short period.

Young people

There are options which are specific for younger people under 25 years old

Older people

There are options available for customers who are 55 years old or older.
