Ways to pay your rent

break

There are a number of ways you can pay your rent, including by Direct Debit and online payments.Your tenancy conditions say that you must pay your rent every week for the following week. It is important that you decide how to pay your rent before you move in to your new home.

At any time you can check your balance online.

If you are a Temporary Accommodation Service tenant and would like a rent account statement posted to you, please email us on hsg-tasrents@newham.gov.uk (click to open a new email) and provide your name, address, and the dates you want the statement to start and finish. Please ensure you include your 10 digit rent account number. You can get this from your All Pay card.
There are now many other ways to pay your rent, Council Tax and other charges, including by Direct Debit, standing order, online and by telephone. To find out about alternative payment methods visit www.newham.gov.uk/cashless or pick up a leaflet in your Local Service Centre.

Direct debit
We would prefer you to pay your rent in this way. It avoids queuing, postage and paperwork, and it takes away the worry of paying your rent on time. If you want to pay by direct debit, you can get an application form from your Local Service Centre or by phoning our Contact Centre on 020 8430 2000. Unfortunately our direct debit service is not available for clients in Bed and Breakfast.

Over the internet
You can also pay by debit card online using the Online Payments service.
