Will you provide grant assistance to pay for repairs?
The Home Improvement Agency does not repair the houses of tenants of Newham Homes or of housing associations.

For owner occupiers who fit the criteria there may be limited financial assistance available (through the East London Regional Partnership) to deal with repairs that are hazardous. Hazards are housing conditions that are dangers to health and safety.

Hazard grants are only available to vulnerable people - i.e. disabled people or those who are over 60 and on a low income.

What other assistance is available?

The Newham Handyvan Service will carry out small repairs for pensioners and disabled people in any housing tenure. To contact the Handyvan Service ring 020 3373 8504.
