Lessons learned from the Canning
Town PFI project continue to prove useful in preparing a Housing
PFI Round 2 scheme in the Forest Gate area.
The project aim is to provide major refurbishment works
to individual homes, environmental remodelling including security
and community safety coupled with on-going management and
maintenance services.
The PFI project will secure private sector funding for catch-up
repairs and improvements for around 1,000 tenanted and 240
leasehold council properties in the area. The PFI will ensure that
the improved properties are managed and maintained to a high
standard for 30 years.
The scheme fits in with our other regeneration initiatives in the
area , which will benefit the community as a whole. The project
complements other initiatives in Forest Gate by delivering
long-term investment in council stock.
