Find out who can apply
for funds
For a group to consider applying
for funds you will need to be, at the very least, a 'recognised'
organisation or group:
- A constitution (stating the organisation's aims and
objectives, meetings, whether funding is involved and what will
happen with any assets or funding) or Memorandum and Articles of
Association.
- A Management Committee comprising at least Chair, Secretary and
Treasurer.
- A bank account in the organisation's name (to later produce
accounts).
- Possibly have members - an organisation should also have other
Board Members (not just in the exceptional roles but ones that have
voting rights) and may also have members that support the
organisation's aims.
To become a charitable organisation, you will need the above and
you will also need to be registered with the Charity Commission.
Visit the Charity Commission's website as they have a
selection of draft Constitutions and other documents that may prove
useful.
