Construction site
safety
The construction industry is the
UK's largest employment sector. In the last 25 years nearly 3000
people have died as a result of injuries sustained on construction
sites and many more have been made ill.
The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
2007 (CDM) place duties on virtually everyone involved in
construction. To find out more about CDM visit the
Health and Safety Executive website.
Enforcement of health and safety on construction sites is the
responsibility of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
If you are having construction or refurbishment work done, you may
need to notify the HSE and may have other duties as well - find
out more.
