Canning Town and
Custom House Regeneration Programme Masterplan
In 2007 a refreshed Masterplan for
the regeneration of Canning Town and Custom House House was
developed for the area.
The Canning Town and Custom House Masterplan
The Masterplan sets out the vision for Canning Town and Custom
House. The attached document was produced as part of a consultation
on the Masterplan, and remains a useful summary of the vision for
Canning Town and Custom House.
Timescales - Please note the regeneration of Canning Town is a
long term programme and the phasing dates for regeneration sites
contained within this document (page 8) refer to the commencement
of preparatory work, such as the rehousing of residents, rather
than the completion of construction works. In addition phasing may
be subject to change and the regeneration of some sites may slip.

The principles of the masterplan have also been incorporated in a
Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) (pdf) which explains what
is envisaged for each regeneration site and the principles that
should underpin any development taking place in the regeneration
area.
