Canning Town is
changing
During March 2011, public
consultation sessions were held on proposals for the town centre at
Canning Town.
If you visit The Place, 2 Silvertown Way, E16 1ED, you
can still view the exhibition materials outlining proposals
for:
- a new Morrisons store
- quality new homes
- exciting 'sky gardens'
- a new town square
- a range of new shops
- new leisure facilities
- a cinema and hotel.
A planning application by developers Bouygues and their partners
One Housing Group was approved in
January 2012. The plans can be viewed on the
planning pages (Reference: 11/00662/LTGDC) of this website. You

It is anticipated that the work on site will begin on the first
phase of the town centre development later this year. This will
include the building of the new Morrisons Supermarket and 179 new
homes by the end of 2014. It is anticipated that the redevelopment
of the whole town centre site will be completed in 2023.
