processes such as the issue and receipt of tender documents, the
issue of purchase orders and the receipt of invoices to occur
electronically

How did Newham become involved in
e-procurement?
London Borough of Newham was part of an e-procurement project 'The
National eProcurement Project' (NePP) set up by the Communities and
Local Government, formerly ODPM.
Newham specifically became part of what is today known as 'The
London Marketplace'
The London Marketplace includes five London Boroughs: Newham, Tower
Hamlets, Barnet, Lewisham and Redbridge, plus the Greater London
Authority.
E-procurement at Newham
Eprocurement solutions currently being used in
Newham are:
IDeA Marketplace which allows
staff to purchase low value orders through online catalogues from
approved corporate suppliers.
Newham's
Electronic Contract and Tendering Resource
(NECTR) an e-tendering solution which
encompasses the whole of the tendering process from advertising the
requirement through to contract award and contract management.
