About the
Communications Service
The Communications Team is part of
the Chief Executive's Directorate. The objective of the corporate
communications team is to protect and improve the reputation of
Newham Council and the borough.
It is up to communications to make residents aware of
all the services we offer and to encourage them to make full use of
them. Communicating what we are about and what we want to achieve
is essential to being successful.
The communications team is a unified, council-wide function. Our
remit is to deliver proactive communications, which are directly
aligned to corporate priorities, and contained in a communications
work plan which has been agreed and signed off by the Mayor, Chief
Executive and senior officers from across the council.
We produce well-planned communications that reach all parts of the
community and enhance our reputation for quality and good customer
service.
The Communications Team is made up of media, marketing and events
and sponsorship teams who work together to ensure all our campaigns
maximise the best use of the various communication channels at our
disposal as well as promote a unified brand.
