Contact the Teaching
Recruitment Team
We provide excellent service and
advice to Newham schools in all aspects of teacher recruitment.
This includes advice on:
- Advertising vacancies
- Selection
- Contracts
- Assessing candidates' right to work
- Pre-employment
- Medical and Criminal Records Bureau checks
We run a "pool" system of recruitment interviews for eligible
Primary UK trained Newly Qualified Teachers, with interviews
normally running between late February and late April or early
May.
For UK trained Secondary NQTs there is a database for teachers
looking to start their careers in Newham. Completed applications
are accepted from March to June.
Another of our services is to provide advice to members of the
public on routes into teaching, running two Training and
Development Agency (TDA) funded taster courses and two information
evenings per year, usually in November and March. These are open to
University graduates interested in teaching as a career.
For more information see the
Training Development
Agency website or phone 0845 6000 991.
We also act as a central information point for the four Graduate
Teacher Programmes (employment-based teacher training) for
University graduates, usually with a degree classed 2:2 or above,
with experience of working or volunteering in schools.
