The Major Sites Service within the
Regeneration, Planning and Property directorate at Newham Council
are looking to recruit for the following positions:
Head of Major Sites
(RICS)
Salary from £75,819 up to £92,670 p.a.
As part of the management team you will be
responsible for identifying, enabling and delivering regeneration
projects for major sites in the Borough.
You will:
- Be a versatile, enthusiastic and ambitious qualified chartered
surveyor with substantial experience of successfully leading and
delivering regeneration and physical development
projects.
- Have strong leadership, programme management and communication
skills with the ability to actively manage commercial
relationships.
- Have a track record of working collaboratively with a wide
range of both public and private partners and interests at a
strategic and local level.

Head of Project
Management
Salary from £61,074 up to £77,925 p.a.
As part of the management team you will be
responsible for leading the Project Management Team to ensure that
all the Division's major sites projects are effectively managed,
delivered on time, within budget and output targets are
achieved.
You will:
- Be from either the public or private sector with extensive
project and programme management experience
- Have highly developed presentation and negotiating
skills
- Have a strong track record in the development and delivery of a
range of diverse regeneration programmes and corporate
projects
- Have the technical competency to develop complex agreements and
partnership arrangements
- Have a recognised professional qualification in project
management, civil engineering or similar
discipline.

Senior Development
Managers (4 posts)
Salary from £52,650 up to £65,289 p.a.
As part of the Major Sites Team, you will develop
and manage major sites projects that deliver Newham's strategic
regeneration objectives.
You will:
- Be an experienced, enthusiastic and ambitious qualified member
of RICS
- Have substantial experience and a successful track record in
project and programme management, regeneration and physical
development
- Have an understanding of the complexities of stakeholder
management, community engagement and the commercial realities of
delivering on the ground
- Be a self starter with strong leadership qualities and the
ability to communicate effectively at all levels in order to
achieve key outcomes
- Be able to develop effective working relationships with private
and public sector partners.

Salary from £38,961 up to £41,610 p.a.
As part of the Project Management Team you will have a key role
supporting the delivery of high quality and effective projects in
the borough.
You will:
- Have superb organisational and administrative abilities and
provide a high level of support and advice to project
managers
- Deliver continually improving project management processes and
procedures
- Have substantial experience of designing and implementing
business information systems
- Have a thorough knowledge of project management including
finance, risk assessment and data analysis and presentation and
excellent communication and planning skills.
