What it is like to
work for the Major Sites Division
We have the technical expertise to
develop or enable the development of major projects and facilitate
their delivery through the public and private sectors, engaging the
community and forging strong and effective partnerships.
Our focus is on developing sustainable neighbourhoods
and thriving communities through the integration of land use
activities that are sensitive to the needs of local
residents.
Below, some of our staff share their experiences with you.
"I want to help ensure Newham maximises opportunities created by
the 2012 Games, Crossrail, London City Airport and Stratford
International Station, and am excited about the challenge of making
a lasting difference to the area."
Clive, Executive Director, Regeneration, Planning and
Property
"I'm excited about the huge potential in Newham.
With the Olympics just around the corner, the Major Sites
developments are going to be key to providing lasting differences
to the borough's residents. We are developing a strong team and
want to attract the best people to support our vision."
Philip, Divisional Director, Major Sites
"Working closely with the community is a fantastic
experience. We get to see our work make an impact on the lives of
people. We are helping the area achieve its regeneration potential,
making a positive difference for the people of Canning Town and
Custom House."
Helen, Project Director, Canning Town and Custom House
Programme
"If you're passionate about ensuring East London's communities and
built environment are responding to the opportunities and
challenges of the 21st century, and if you want to be a part of
making this happen, there is no better place to work than Newham's
new Major Sites Team. It is dynamic, focussed and forward-thinking.
Every day brings a new challenge, and every day brings its
rewards."
