Mayor of Newham, Sir Robin Wales, recently opened One Housing
Group's Rick Roberts Way development, a new £49 million flagship
mixed tenure scheme which will provide a range of affordable homes

Saturday 26 November
On Saturday 26 November I joined chidren from Brampton, Nelson and
Lister schools in a lantern procession leading to the Christmas
lights switch on in High Street, East Ham. |

Wednesday 23 November I was delighted to visit Elmhurst
School and along with the Minister for Schools launch my Reading
Guarantee programme.

Display 2011
5 November, 2011 Almost 30,000 residents came to Wanstead
Flats on Saturday 5 November to watch a spectacular display of
fireworks set to music at our annual event. |

Skills Place Newham will work to provide residents with those

The Christmas lights switch on events provide a great opportunity
to celebrate the start of the festive season, and this year it was
particularly good to see so many local businesses trading at the
craft fair in the courtyard at Stratford Town Hall. |

The Waterfront Festival gave us the chance to welcome the Tour of
Britain to the borough as well as to have a great party in the
Docks, with food, fireworks and fun for all. |

When we first thought of having a music festival in Central Park
over 10 years ago, I would never have believed it would turn into
such a fantastic spectacle. This year over 42,000 of you enjoyed
this fabulous free event. Roll on next year! |
