	Newham remembers the Holocaust The current edition of the Newham Mag features an article on Newham Council's commemoration of Holocaust Memorial Day, which featured candles, poems, testimonies and readings, in remembering the six million Jewish people who lost their lives.

	Tribute to a working class hero The Shadow Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Hilary Benn, came to Stratford Old Town Hall to help us mark a significant landmark in the history of the area.

	East Ham Christmas lights switch on 4 December, 2010 A big thank you to everyone who braved the cold and came along to the Christmas light switch on in East Ham. I'd also like to say a special thanks to all the young musicians and school children who took part in the lantern procession for making the event such a success.
	Stratford Christmas lights switch on 3 December, 2010 The Christmas lights switch on events provide a great opportunity to celebrate the start of the festive season, and this year it was particularly good to see so many local businesses trading at the craft fair in the courtyard at Stratford Town Hall.
	Tour of Britain and Waterfront Festival 18 September, 2010 The Waterfront Festival gave us the chance to welcome the Tour of Britain to the borough as well as to have a great party in the Docks, with food, fireworks and fun for all.
	Under the Stars 26-29 August, 2010 When we first thought of having a music festival in Central Park over 10 years ago, I would never have believed it would turn into such a fantastic spectacle. This year over 42,000 of you enjoyed this fabulous free event. Roll on next year!
	Mayor's Newham Show 17-18 July, 2010 The Mayor's Newham Town Show is one of my favourite events of the year. It's great to see families having fun together and enjoying the huge range of activities on offer.
