The meetings, which will be held in September across the
borough, are for people to choose their forum's steering
group.
These groups steer community forum activities and events to help
address issues that people want tackled most. They are made up of
residents, business people, voluntary, community and faith sector
representatives and elected councillors.
Anyone who lives or works in Newham and wants to get actively
involved in making positive change in their community can nominate
themself for their forum's steering group.
Nominations close one week before each AGM and new members will be
chosen at the meetings.
Mayoral Advisor for Community Forums Councillor Richard Crawford is
encouraging people to attend their AGM.
He said: "This is the chance to help influence the future of your
local area. The Steering Group plays an important role with putting
local people's views forward and promoting positive change. Please
come to the AGM and play your part."
