Following the success of last year's competition, where
more than 1,500 people took part, this year's free tournament is
set to be bigger and better.
Heats will take place in each community forum area from May 13
to 20 for adults and May 27 to 29 for young people.
Anyone who lives or works in a community forum area can take
part and people can register now or just turn up on the day.
The age categories are eight to 11 years mixed girls and boys,
12 to 16 years girls, 12 to 14 years boys, 15 to 17 years boys and
adult men and women.
Winners of each forum heat will compete for the champion's title
on Friday May 30 at West Ham United's Boleyn Ground, Upton
Park.
Executive adviser to community forums Councillor Richard
Crawford said: "It is great to have a local football club the size
and pedigree of West Ham United working in partnership with Newham
Council and supporting the forum competition.
"I hope everyone who lives and works in Newham will take this
opportunity to get involved and have a chance of playing at West
Ham - a chance to live the dream."
Everyone is welcome at the ground to watch the finals and cheer
on their team.
Competitors can win great prizes including trophies, medals,
t-shirts and sports goods.
The Women's FA cup and charity shield will also be on show for
people to take photographs.
