The awards, which were presented at the Public Sector
People Managers' Association (PPMA) conference in Brighton, are
held annually with 20 prizes given out for advertising across the
whole of the public sector.
The award-winning advert, which seeks Private Sector Housing
Specialists, won in three different categories:
- A Unitary/Metropolitan/London Council
- Housing
- Sustainability/Regeneration/Housing
It is the first time that Newham Council entered these awards
and they have come away with gold having won more than the other
London boroughs. The creative advert drew more than 40 applicants,
far more from across London than usual.
The recruitment and housing service teams worked together to
create the eye catching advert. The idea came from HR recruitment's
collaboration with TMP, the recruitment communication company. The
concept picks up on the impact that poor housing has on health.
The health warning approach is a direct analogy to those on
cigarette packets, which linked to HR recruitment's main target
audience, environmental health staff, who are involved in the wider
health agenda.
Deputy Mayor of Newham, Councillor Christine Bowden said:
"Receiving these awards is testament to Newham's dedication to
attracting excellent staff who will deliver the very best services
to the people of Newham." |
