Residents in the south of Newham will get the chance to have their say on local policing issues at an upcoming public meeting.

Representatives from the Metropolitan Police will be on hand at the Newham Town Hall, Barking Road East Ham, at 7pm next Thursday (June 25th) as part of the Community and Police Forum.

The meeting will focus on policing issues and anti-social behaviour in the Beckton, Royal Docks, Canning Town South and Custom House Ward areas.

Royal Docks community lead councillor, Cllr Pat Murphy, said the forum is an important opportunity for the community to engage with the borough's police.

He said: "Newham is committed to building strong ties between their policing service and the community.

"The meeting is open to all residents, but if you live in any of these areas, next Thursday will be a great opportunity to learn about the work that police are doing your area and comment on your experience."

"We're hoping to open up a constructive discussion and debate about strategic and borough wide policing, crime and community safety issues.
