Newham film-maker up
for top gong
An emerging Newham film-maker
has been nominated for two prizes at the upcoming Best of Borough
Film Awards (the BoBs).
Michael Taylor and his film 'Milk Watch' are in contention
to win both the jury and audience prize in the competition which
aims to give budding London film-makers a leg-up in the
industry.
Michael's short film, which is described as an all-singing,
all-crime-stopping musical about milkmen on a mission, is up
against films from 12 other boroughs across the capital and could
score him one or both of the £2000 prizes on offer.
To view Michael's film and cast your vote for the audience
prize, visit

by Monday June 29.
The awards will be presented at an event at BAFTA on Monday 6
July.
Lead Member for Culture, Cllr Jo Corbett, said participating in
events like this is important for developing cultural talent across
the borough.
She said: "Newham is London's most diverse borough and
competitions like this give us a chance to showcase the cultural
diversity that makes Newham so special.
"It's exciting to see a talented film maker like Michael up
against the best in London and we wish him all the best."
The production of the film was possible through the New Pathways
Film Funding scheme which is partially funded by Newham
Council.
