New divisional
director for Social Care Transformation
A new Divisional director for
Social Care Transformation has been appointed by Newham
Council.
Grainne Siggins will be responsible for transforming
the social care offered to adults to ensure it offers independence,
choice and control.
She joins the council from the London Borough of Enfield where she
was Assistant Director for Older People and Carers
Grainne has worked in the field of health and social care for the
past 22 years and has held several senior management positions in
the local authority, voluntary and health sectors. In previous
roles she has been heavily involved in leading transformational
change activity within social care.
She is committed to partnership working and has been a
non-executive director for a Primary Care Trust for the past six
years.
Grainne said "I am delighted to have been appointed to the
position during this very exciting yet challenging time nationally
and locally. Newham is a very ambitious and progressive borough
with a new Executive Director for Adults, Community and Leisure and
strong political leadership who are committed to improving local
services for local people.
"I am committed to transforming adult social care services to be
more responsive to the needs of local people whilst working
actively with our partners to ensure the efficient use of resources
and improved customer experience."
Kim Bromley-Derry, acting Chief Executive added: "I am delighted
that someone of Grainne's calibre is joining the council. She will
be a key part of ensuring that every adult in Newham has access to
the services they need."
