Resident visitor parking permits

Resident visitor parking permits allow visitors to park in a residential parking zone during controlled hours.

You must apply for resident visitor parking vouchers online.

Parking with a resident visitor permit

The permit allows a visitor to park their vehicle in a permit holders only bay in  the residential parking zone shown on the permit.
They can also park within a shared use bay. This is a parking space used by permit holders or motorists displaying a valid pay and display ticket.

Types of resident visitor permits

There are three different types of permit - each valid for a different length of time:
  • 6 hours
  • 10 hours
  • 24 hours.

Apply for a pack of permits

Free 30 one-day permits

You may qualify to receive 30 free one-day resident visitor parking permit vouchers per rolling 12 months if:
  • your home is in a residential parking zone
  • it is the first time your household has applied for resident visitor parking permit vouchers
  • there are no vehicles registered at your property
  • you are on the electoral roll and /or Council Tax register.
To claim your free vouchers, please complete our free vouchers online form. Your vouchers will then be posted out to you free of charge within 14 days.

Buy your permit vouchers online

If you are not eligible for 30 free vouchers, you must buy your permit vouchers online through My Newham.
You must be the My Newham account holder to renew or apply for the permit.

You can buy a maximum of 40 vouchers (in any combination) per household, per month.

Resident visitor parking permits are non-refundable.
