Requests for
enforcement/vehicle removals
Newham Council's enforcement
contractor (Mouchel Ltd) has a direct, dedicated phone line for
requests for enforcement action, including requests to have
vehicles removed.
Enforcement action (including removals) can be requested
between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday by calling 020
3373 4670.
The council does not provide a removal service outside of the
above hours but from 5pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday and from 8am to
8pm at weekends, standard enforcement action can still be requested
by calling 07535 470 514.
Examples of when the council will consider removing a vehicle
include:
- parked in a disabled bay without displaying a valid permit or
blue badge
- parked across a dropped kerb*
- parked on a footway
- parked near a junction on a valid restriction.
* Mouchel Ltd will not remove a vehicle parked across a
resident/business dropped kerb or driveway unless the request is
made by the resident/owner of the premises in question. The
resident/owner will be required to sign a form confirming that they
have requested the removal. This is to avoid the removal of
genuinely parked vehicles.
Depending upon the circumstances, Mouchel Ltd will advise if it is
appropriate to deploy a removals truck to the location in question.
It is important to note that despite what you consider to be a
genuine request, the enforcement service can only remove a vehicle
if it has first issued a valid penalty charge notice (PCN). If a
PCN cannot be issued, the vehicle will not be removed by Mouchel
Ltd.
