Mayor's Newham Show 2011 photos

It is clear that no amount of rain could keep residents away from the Mayor's Newham Show, which took place last weekend (16-17 July 2011) at Central Park in East Ham.

Despite the damp conditions, the programme of free music, entertainment and events went ahead as planned, attracting just over 25,000 people over the course of the weekend.

The beach area, yet again proved to be a huge success, having made a welcomed return with plenty of extra activities packed in. And this year, alongside a line-up of talented musicians and dancers, residents were treated to performances from special guests James Anderson and Paul Gbegbaje, who recently achieved fame on ITV's Britain's Got Talent series.

If you missed out, don't worry. Our four night free live music event, 'Under the Stars' is still to come at the end of August and promises to be as spectacular as ever, with performances from saxophonist Courtney Pine, H-Dhami and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. Find out more about Under the Stars here.
