Local Air Quality Data

Air quality monitoring is undertaken across Newham, all the collected data can be viewed here.

Automatic Monitoring Stations

Currently Newham has two automatic monitoring stations continuously monitoring all year round:

- Check today's air quality.

- View hourly monitoring data.

- View weekly air pollution graphs.

- Get annual data: Stratford - Cam Road.

- Get annual data: Canning Town - Wren Close.


The automatic monitoring stations at Stratford and Canning Town monitor SO2, NOx, ozone, fine particles and Carbon monoxide. The Stratford station additionally monitors Benzene, Toluene and 1,3 Butadiene.

Newham has 21 manually operated N02 diffusion tube sites, you can view the monthly data here:

Particulate Monitors

Newham has 5 automatic particulate monitors recording the level and type of dust in the atmosphere. In addition a hand-held devise is used for spot checks of dust levels. This data is available upon request.
