Do I have to give notice of demolition, and how?
Yes, before demolition works commence, the owner of a building must first give written notification to the local authority specifying the exact name and location of the building to be demolished and a description of the demolition works. This notice is required under Section 80 of the Building Act 1984. For more, see Section 80 in the In Detail section
