How to appeal against the valuation band allocated to your property or if you disagree with a decision of the council regarding liability to pay Council Tax, refusal to grant a discount, an exemption or a disabled reduction.

The Government has limited the grounds for appeal. Therefore, it is important that you contact the Listing Officer as soon as possible if you wish to appeal. You must continue to pay whilst your appeal is being considered.

Appealing against the council's decision

To appeal against a decision of the council regarding liability to pay Council Tax, refusal to grant a discount, an exemption or a disabled reduction you should appeal in writing to:
