External Funding Opportunities

External Funding represents money that is made available from Central, Regional and Local Government, the European Commission, National Lottery distributors and various trusts and foundations providing funds for projects that seek to further specific aims.

      If you are a recognised organisation with a project that can benefit Newham residents then you can request a funding search.

    • European Funding Initiatives

      The External Funding Team (EFT) co-ordinates European initiatives and provides funding information.

    • Find out who can apply for funds

      For a group to consider applying for funds you will need to be, at the very least, a 'recognised' organisation or group:

    • Grantnet

      We are working in partnership with Grantnet to help community and voluntary groups obtain up-to-date information on funding and grants free of charge.

    • Funding Bulletin

      The External Funding Team regularly produces the funding bulletin which provides information on current and new funding opportunities available to organisations.

    • Ongoing projects

      There are a number of ongoing external funding projects.

    • Labour market profile

      This provides information on the Newham economy, including employment, unemployment, businesses, income levels and index of deprivation.

    • Evaluation of the Newham A2E Programme

      A2E (Access to Excellence) is a £18.75 million urban regeneration programme aiming to transform the London Borough of Newham by increasing social and economic wealth in the three pathway areas of Custom House and Canning Town, Manor Park, and North Woolwich and Silvertown.

      The External Funding Team (EFT) provides information and advice on external funding opportunities to organisations based in Newham or who work with Newham residents.
