Conducting the Civil Marriage

A brief overview of your Civil Wedding...
The Marriage ceremony is conducted by a Registrar from the Register Office, and you will need to contact this office to book a time for attendance.

There is a separate fee for this service which must be paid as soon as possible to ensure that the Registrar will be available on the day of your Marriage.

The Notice of Marriage of 15 days
Notice of Marriage must also be given to the Superintendent Registrar of the district in which each party resides for which a statutory fee is also payable.

efore you can be married in England and Wales you must first give formal notice of your intention and it must be more than 15 days in advance of your wedding.
