How Newham is Governed
The Forward
Plan
The Forward Plan tells you what key
decisions will be made by the Mayor or by officers over the coming
months.
It also covers how and when those decisions are made, and
forthcoming decisions on the policy and budgetary framework.
The Forward Plan is prepared monthly, and covers a four month
period. It must be published at least 14 days before the start of
the month. You can find it on the web
(Forward Plan), at
our offices,
at local service
centres and libraries.
What does the Forward Plan tell me?
Each entry in the Forward Plan gives the following
information:
- The nature of the decision - what will the
decision-making body be asked to decide.
- Key Dates - the date the report will be available to the
public, and any background information and the date the decision
will be made.
- Who will make the decision (i.e. the Mayor; the Mayor in
consultation with the Cabinet; the Mayor in consultation with the
relevant cabinet member or mayoral adviser; or an officer)
- Consultation - any external consultation that has taken place
on the issue, the consultation methods that have and will be used
and how that can have an input.
