Strategy
Regeneration projects are creating
thousands of jobs in Newham and the wider Thames
Gateway.
Newham's Employment Strategy (summary) sets
out the framework for ensuring that more Newham residents access
these jobs and remain in employment. Our vision is to develop
Newham into a borough where residents can be independent through
employment.
The summary introduces the objectives, key initiatives and key
principles of the Employment Strategy, which can be shared by all
partners involved in assisting Newham residents into work.
Our target is to raise the local Employment Rate to meet the
current Inner London average by 2012.
