Purpose built and state of the art, Beckton Library offers you access to the world of books, information and communication. Browse through and borrow from our wide selection of books. There is something for all tastes, communities, interests and ages. If you prefer, there is a wide selection of story tapes and of course the very best in large print. Or you could choose from the large selection of audiovisual items.

The children's area has recently been revamped with a fabulous new mural.

Activities at Beckton Globe Library

  • Toy Library - Every Monday 10am-12 noon and every Thursday 1pm-3pm. Open to children under 5 with their parents/carers.
  • Homework Club - Tuesdays during school term 4pm-6pm for 7-14 year olds. Bring your homework along for support and advice.
  • Messy Play - Tuesdays during school term 1.30pm-2.30pm.
    Open to children under 5 with their parents/carers.
  • Teenage Games Club - Every Monday and Wednesday 3pm-5pm. PS2 and Xbox games, music, board games and many more activities for 12-16 year olds.
  • Over 50s Club - Every Tuesday 9.45am-11.45am. Enjoy a range of activities for the over 50s.
  • Over 50s Reading Group - First Tuesday of the month 9.45am-11.45am. Explore the pleasure of reading in a friendly environment. Part of the Over 50s Club.
