The Library and Local Service Centre @ The Gate is a multi-purpose, state of the art community facility where local people can access a range of library and council services. From borrowing books to free internet access to housing and council enquiries all needs can be met at The Gate.

Activities at the Library @ The Gate:

  • Family Reading Group - First Sunday of the month 2.30pm - 4pm. A chance for children aged 5 to 11 and their families to read together and have fun.
  • Adult Reading Group - First Tuesday of the month 6.30pm-7.30pm. Explore the pleasure of reading in a friendly environment.
  • Urdu Reading Group - Second Tuesday of the month 5.30pm-7.30pm for women only. Read novels, short stories and poetry and enjoy the delights of the Urdu language.
  • ICT Surgeries - Various Fridays throughout the month, 10am to 12 noon and 2pm to 4pm. Book an appoitment and come have your computer-related doubts solved!
  • Storytelling - Every Friday 11am to 12 noon. Open to children under 5 with their parents/carers.
  • Homework Club - Thursdays during school term 4pm to 6pm for seven to 14 year olds.
