month, from 6.30 to 7.30pm.

The Writers Group takes place at the Library @ The Gate on the
last Tuesday of every month from 5.30 until 7.30pm.

The Stratford Library Reading Group meets every second Monday of
the month from 6.30 to 7.30pm.

2008 is the National Year of Reading and Newham's libraries will
be holding a wide range of events and promotions across the
borough. Join a reading group, meet an author or take part in a
competition! We also have lots of fun suggestions on new ways to
enjoy reading on your own or with others.

We offer a wide variety of reading groups at our libraries, with
groups aimed at all ages and in a number of community languages.
They are all free of charge and are a great place to meet new
people!

The Over 50's Club meets every Tuesday morning at Beckton Globe
Library.

You can always ask for advice on a good book when you visit a
library, but the staff at Newham's libraries are so passionate
about books they just have to share some of their favourite reads
with you over the internet as well! Every week throughout the
National Year of Reading we will bring you a new review of some of
their favourite books.

entertainment. Newham's libraries will share with you here their
