Library Services For People With Disabilities

All of Newham's libraries have level access or a ramp from the street and there are lifts to the upper floors at Beckton and Stratford libraries.
Several of our libraries also have disabled access toilets (The Gate and Stratford).

Free services
If you have a disability, there are concessions or free loans for most charged services. Please check the page on fees and charges for full details, or ask at your local library.

Do you have difficulty seeing?
If you are visually impaired we can assist by offering: ·
Adults large print and talking books ·
Children's braille books (Stratford Library) ·
Computers with magnification and voice software for the Internet, word processing and other online services (Canning Town and Stratford Library)

Do you have difficulty getting to the library?

We offer a Home Reader Service.
If you can't get to a library, perhaps because you are elderly or disabled, you can join our Home Reader Service.
We can deliver books, CDs, DVDs and information directly to your door.

We aslo offer a mobile library service.
