Library services for young people

There are lots of fun and interesting activities for parents and children at our libraries. Call your local library (020 8430 2000) or just drop by to find out what's on near you!
There are books for children of all ages, including babies, exciting stories for older children, books to aid with hobbies, homework and all your favourites from Harry Potter to Lemony Snicket and the latest Jacqueline Wilson. There are also Toys, DVDs, Graphic Novels and much more.

We have a range of services for children aged under-five and their Parents and Carers:

If your child needs help with homework, our homework helpers are available every week during term time to give advice and support with books, online encyclopaedias, the Internet, worksheets and other resources.

Every summer children aged 4-12 can take part in our Reading Challenge. There are rewards for everyone taking part. You can also get help to improve your reading during the summer holidays.

Looking for fun and games? Drop in to our Games Clubs and Teen Xtra sessions. Over the summer holidays we have Extended Opening days at Custom House and Manor Park libraries where for the entire day you have the opportunity to play with console games such as Nintendo Wii, Playstation and Xbox as well as traditional board games.
