Local Development Framework

An Introduction to the LDF

The LDF is a folder of documents, which will set the scene for the development and regeneration of the borough over the next 20 years.
The LDF is at draft stage and will replace our current planning policies under the Unitary Development Plan (UDP) in due course.

The LDF will aim to meet the local community's future economic, environmental and social needs through the land use planning system. It will also be the basis on which planning applications are judged.

The LDF will comprise the following documents:
  • Local Development Scheme
  • Statement of Community Involvement
  • The Core Strategy
  • Area Action Plans
  • Site Specific Allocations of land
  • Development Control Manual
  • Supplementary Planning Documents
  • Sustainability Appraisal
